There is not much difference between the 07s and 08s. The 09s are really nice and have some nice upgrades and In my opinion really stand out from the others.
I would go for the 09 hands down. Compare the 09 to the others and I think you will be impressed...

I would look at it a little differently. If there were no major bugs in 08 that were fixed with the 09 model, I'd take the 08 with the following in mind:
1 - Once you get to 8 or 9 years, the trade in value will be close for either unit. No advantage there.
2 - Insurance, registration may be lower for the 08.
3 - Excise taxes will be considerably lower for the 08 for the first few years, then they would wind up about the same.

The newer one would have newer tires too?
Would it have more smog stuff on the engine?
Look at them and ask questions then decide.
My ears are still ringing from all the yelling here so I will go on to other questions..................

1. Regardless of the plan, how many actually keep a unit for that length of time. Same thinking that results in 96 mo. auto financing and the world is "upside down". Death, changing circumstances, and desires and needs seem to change a lot of plans.
2. Insurance is based on new value and the savings would be negligible if any.
3. Florida doesn't have an excise tax as many other states don't as well.

No,the ULSD motor was required on 07s up. So they all have the same engine...

Sigh, how true.
Personally I have been impressed with Tiffin and it is on our short list when we replace our MH. At first I was concerned about your original post but Tiffin seems to stand by their products. '09's are very impressive but that's your call.

Actually, it is not quite that clear-cut.
Indeed ENIGNES manufactured after 1/1/07 have to meet the much stricter emissions requirements which require ULSD fuel.
BUT, that is ENGINE manufacturer date, not chassis date or coach date. Many chassis makers stockpiled the 06 engines and were able to use them well into the 2007 model year run. And there are lots of coaches sitting on a previous year's chassis.

The '09 Bus did have a number of changes over the '08. Many were cosmetic and interior trim upgrades, etc. The biggest changes were a sliding shade built into the ceiling at the shower skylight which is a very popular feature with buyers, a bedroom ceiling fan as standard, the replacement of the winegard crank-up antenna with a round saucer shaped antenna that privides better reception for digital HDTV signals and worksd in-motion without having to worry about cranking it up or down, and the ability to order an optional 3rd air conditioner and 10KW generator on the 40' floor plans.
Given the fact that you'll get back the upcharge on the '09 at resale time, I'd go for the '09 with it's new features with no questions asked.

Thank you for such quick responses. We've been involved with motorhomes for less than a year, so this is all so new to us. We intended to make one purchase with the 2007 Allegro Bus and be done with it. I wish we had waited for the 2008, but we thought the new engine with the new fuel requirement would be a detriment. The 2008 & 2009 interior layout is far superior to the 2007. So comfort sometimes outweighs the engine & fuel specs. Besides, who is really going to go on long trips with the fuel prices? Comfort means everything because we live here.
