I have a rear roof fan vent on my motorhome that has a cover over the cap. I have been having problems with yellow jackets building their nest inside the cap. I kill them off with WD-40 then clean it out, then within a couple weeks there's a new nest in the cap. Is there anything I can install in the cap to keep the yellow jackets out.

Try some mint extract around the vent - Yellow Jackets hate that.

Why not wrap some screening around it so that they can't get in?
Also, when I use wasp spray they don't come back. It leaves something behind that kills them when they come back?

Usually I will turn on the fan and then spray the wasp killer into the fan. Seems to get them all without me being on top of the TT.

Those aren't yellow jackets. Those are paper wasps. Get aluminum window screen and make a round shape of it that will fit inside the vent cap and glue it in place. Make certain that it doesn't allow any open space for them to get inside the cap area. I've had to do this with most of my vents as the buggers love to get into all kinds of places to build there nests. Usually I have to remove 10-15 nests (Small) each time I take the tarps off the camper when getting it out of storage.

Glue a shiny penny to the edge of the vent. Works for me.

Don't quite understand principle of the penny. What happens when penny is no longer shiny?

The wasps will take the penny and spend it on paper to make nests elsewhere?

Sorry I did not get back on this sooner. I use gorilla glue and a shiny penny is clean so it will adhere better. The point is that yellowjackets will stay away from copper because it is electrically conductive and they can sense that.
