I'm looking for input from anyone who has install a Banks Power Pac System on there Class C motor home GAS. I'm seriously thinking about this on our last trip out. Tired of the downshifting, wind, and MAYBE try to improve the MPG's. Banks are saying that it will give you 42% more horse power and torque and up to 17% more MPG's. If anyone has installed this would like your feed back or anyone who has installed a Banks Power Pac System.

I believe that Banks is saying that they will get 7% increase in MPG, not 17%.....and that would be about an additional 1/2 mpg.
Depending on how much you plan to use your RV, it may take a very long time to pay-back the investment in the system.
Some numbers: Your numbers may differ, but you'll get the idea!
8,000 miles/year (@ 8 mpg)=1000 gallons X $4.00/gal = $4000.00/year
8,000 miles/year (@ 8.5 mpg)=941 gallons X $4.00/gal =$3754.00/year
Difference $ 236.00/year
How much is the system?? How many years before it pays back?
So many people are tossing thousands of dollars in an effort to save hundreds I just doesn't make sense?? Of course, you also wanted the extra horsepower, for hills, etc. And that can't be figured the same way...and with that, maybe you'll be able to justify it. Many others will probably write and say that it's worth the money.
I don't drive enough in the mountains, or enough in general, to justify it. JMHO!!

I looked in the Banks system because those mods are simply interesting to me. Not that my RV needed more power.
Going with either the cat-back or the full blown package, the return on investment just doesn't work. If Banks cut the price in half, I still wouldn't jump on it. If I had a max'd out class-C that despirately needed more power, I'd think a bit more, but likely would still opt out.

It's not always just a payback issue. The banks system (we have one on a diesel MH) will give you more HP and Torque. It will give you minimal gas mileage increase and you will most likely use that up playing with the HP and torque.
In essence you will get a rig that runs faster, pulls better, breathes easier, runs cooler. All at about the same MPG you get now (maybe a little better but don't count on it).
A big issue is to make sure your tranny can handle the additional torque.
It's your decision based on what you want out of the system.

I have a Banks Power Pack on my 2006 Triton and it is the second best aftermarket addition that I have made to my coach. As noted above, what I wanted was increased low end torque and acceleration. We tow a car and drive in the mountains a lot and the increase in performance on hills and mountains is significant (to me). I do not see any increase in MPG. However, I probably put my foot in the carb more now.
