Funny question isn't it?
We only do #1. Never #2.
We've owned our Phoenix Cruiser a year now. Funny that both my wife and I haven't taken a dump in it. We wait for a public bathroom to do it. We agree it's too gross to be driving around taking our poop everywhere we go. We laugh about it.
I suppose it's a good thing given we keep our RV in the garage when not in-use. The soil vent pipe would be releasing some nasty odors that would find it's way into the house upstairs.
When a trip is over, we fill up the black tank and flush it out thouroughly of residual urine alone. No odors then.

We use our "facilities" exactly for what they're designed for. Having our own bathroom is one of the reasons we purchased a TT. We hardly ever ever use the bathhouse at the campground even for showering. We dump and flush after every trip and have never had an issue with any odors.

Makes you wonder what people do when they are home! Hummm, can see them now running to the neighbors or the store down the street. Its made to use just like the one at home. Hopefully they are not on a septic system at home! Fumes might be right outside their door just awaiting to attack!

That's what a toilet is for doing #1 and #2. Been doing both since we had our first popup 13yrs ago.

Talk about gross - Most Public Bathrooms! We use ours and rinse out the black tank before we store it - Odor has not been a problem. Besides we often camp in areas where public bathrooms are not available or at least close by.

In the 3 years we owned a travel trailer we only did #2 in the toilet a couple of times, using the campground facilities for that instead. Once we bought the motorhome we decided to use the MH's bathroom for what it was made for, #1 and #2.
Using the proper holding tank chemicals, and dumping at the end of the camp trip there's no problem with odors.
Plus I don't have to worry about tank sensors getting gunk on them and not working correctly. Mine are the type mounted on the outside of the tank.

I agree with answers so far.
It's a toilet and we use it for it's intended purpose.
We are all good at something.....
I just happen to be a good bad example.
