A while ago I saw a 97 Terry 5th wheel with a door on the passenger side (all the way toward the back) and one on the driver side just ahead of the slide. The seller stated that the driver side door was factory because if the slide was in there would be no way to access the front part of the trailer. My question to you good people is this...Is that a rare option? If so do you know what other makes, models, and years offer the dual side door. Is there a proper term for this option. Thanks in advance...oh and by the way the trailer 25.5' long.
Thanks

Cool, but who wants to get out into traffic to get into the fiver?
I realize they might have to offer both options because some people drive on the wrong side of the road. However if you live in the US why would you want that??? I can't think of any that you could access while driving ( Mexico, Canada) ?? Maybe if you went through Mexico to others??
Fun is that stuff that happens in between mistakes.

I think it would be convenient to access the half bathroom without traipsing all through the trailer with wet or dirty shoes. I think moms with children would really appreciate this aspect.
I would like for the front bedroom fiver models to offer a larger window or a small door (even with the considerable drop to the ground) in the bedroom for fire safety reasons. It would be less of a drop to the ground than the rinky dink little egress windows most models (including my own) have. It would also be easier to fit through a larger opening and not have to climb through an opening that was higher off the floor. I understand the manufacturers' reasoning is to prevent heat loss and drafts in the colder temps. I'm sure the smaller windows cost less than the larger windows, too. I would be willing to make the trade off for improved safety. JMHO

There are quite a few floorplans available (a bunch of different manufacturers) with a 2nd door on the driver's side but I have only seen them in bunkhouse models where the door leads to a 2nd bathroom.

Huh? I think you will find that in Mexico, Canada and throughout South America they drive on the right, just like we do.

The reason why I want that option is because of the way my house is laid out. If I backed it in it would be hard to access the passenger side door. But if I had access to the driver side I can extend the slide and be able to load her up without much hassle.

The streetside door, as on the noted Excel above, is so you can socialize with your friends/traveling companions in the spot next to you, without traipsing around the unit to get there.
Hey, that's what a factory sales rep told me. I couldn't make that up...
