The tires and wheels are too heavy for me to handle. I probably will just carry a tire and let ERS do the work.

We have a small fleet of MDT's and Class 8's. We used to carry a spare mounted on a wheel. Now we only carry a tire. Reason why is it's not practical to change yourself so save the weight of the wheel. Carry a tire so we're not caught somewhere without access to a tire or where the price might to too high for a replacement.

No spare.

If driving to Alaska...yes spare.

I will send for help, not going to change a tire that big
(22.5).....unless your MDT is a Chev 4500 or a F450.

If you get a spare it will probably go bad due to age before you have a chance to use it. My drive tires are also different than my steer tires so which spare would you choose?
I don’t carry a spare and neither do any of my friends. In fact I don’t even think I know of anyone that carries a spare.

I used to carry a spare when I had 19.5 tires on my Kodiak. 19.5 is a rare tire to find in some areas of the USA. I recently switched to 22.5 wheels and tires and no longer carry a spare.

On another note....The 22.5 tires are MUCH easier to put on a rim that the 19.5.
