Buy only the Hayes Genesis. It is a proportional controller very similar to the highly regarded Tekonsha Prodigy.
I'm free of prostate cancer for 5 years now.
All men over age 50 should get an annual PSA blood test. Mine had a low reading, but the yearly jump was significant. The biopsy showed cancer just entering the aggressive stage. Dr. Hackenslash removed it.
Piece of....well you know. I had one on my previous TV and hated it. Upgraded to a P3 and the different is night and day. Do youself a favor and skip the low-end models and start with a decent one from the start.
The rest of your set-up is solid, you'll be kicking youself if you let the brake controller negatively impact that....
I have a Hayes controller, and I feel that they are as good as any other controller on the market, just not as well known. My RV dealer's service manager said Hayes has been making controllers for some 30+ years when I asked about them, don't know this for sure, have not checked it out.
It is a time delay type controller, which are only suitable for very light trailers.
Considering you can get a good proportional controller like the Prodigy for a similar price, I can't understand why anyone would buy a time delay type controller.
I had a hayes engage. No problems with it, but I like my p3 better. Only reason I don't have the hayes anymore is I thought my new truck had a built in factory brake controller, so I sold the hayes on ebay. When I realized I had to by a new one I went with prodigy.
