I found my ideal first time workamper job. So I thought. It was advertised as a small campground,20 hrs per week per couple plus WIFI nd cable. Well, no WIFI and no cable., with $ if over 20. But they informed us that no way would they $ to pay.The campground was fortunately within driving distance of my house and i went to visit. So i saw the campsite, found where i was going to park and met the owners. (sounds good so)First i did not get a contract, big mistake! Second they are so nice people and they hired a second couple to help. Well the second couple are now telling the owners what they like and dont like and making changes as they want and the owners are not saying anything.. We never get 20 hrs per week sometimes we get 15. The second couple said they could not work 20 hrs per week so they begin working 40 to 50 hrs per week, so that cuts way back on our time. So now they are complaining they are overworked and want to change our days off (2) so they can have help. NO DEAL!So next year(?????) any suggestions.!

Why wait until next year. No contract. Give two weeks notice and leave. The camping season just started. It will be a very long miserable summer for you if you don't.

If you are not getting the deal you were promised, find something else and leave. You dont need to give them as a referance. I have seen many times just giving notice means "your outta here".

We have been workamping for 4 years and have on 2 occasions had similar problems. Employers let people go without warning or notice so I feel that no notice is required when you leave. By the way we never take a job unless the site is included and we are paid for all hours worked.

The idea of full timing in an RV is the capability of pulling jacks and moving on to something better.
Why put up with something that is only going to get worse?

That's why you have wheels --- leave. We have been work camping on and off for 9 years. We have left twice because of misrepresentation by management. We are trying our 3rd and maybe final KOA, if it doesn't work we are done with KOA. With the price of fuel and the apparent shortage of work campers (we have multiple offers) we can afford to be choosy.

Like others have stated, leave as soon as you can. You do not owe them any two-week notice because they have not lived up to their end of the employment deal. Check for other workamper openings immediately, hopefully before you leave. We were in the same situation many years ago on our first workamper job. The owners loaded us up with many more duties than we were hired to do and physically able to accomplish (12-14 hour days). We saw an ad in the Workamper News, checked the place out, they had openings, and we left the bad place two days later. We really enjoyed our summer at the new place, can't think how bad it would have been if we had stayed at the first job. Now is the time to make your move while employers are still looking for workampers. A month from now may be too late!

Don't give up. We have had 6 jobs with 4 different employers and 5 of the 6 I would rate either satisfactory or very enjoyable. One was terrible and only lasted 3 weeks but that's pretty good average. However, we have always been paid for a full 40 hours.
