I was in Killeen, TX (by Ft Hood) living in and storing my 5vr for 2 yrs with no shade and the TX sun shining on it. Now back home in MO.... Oh yes!!!! My son-in-law is back from Iraq and ready for his new assignment teaching ROTC at a UN. As an old Soldier and Vietnam vet myself, I'm happy he's home safe. Best of all is, his 3 yr old daughter went right to him.
I have found some items (openers & air-ways) very brittle and cracked so will have to replace them. I have found that looking at the rv with a "bit of green" behind it that it has really dulled more than I thought.
I would appreciate some help as to suggestions to return the exterior back to a welcome glossy sight. The interior has been well cared for by the "better half/three quarters". So it's just my AO (Area of Operation) that needs help. T'is a husband thang....
PS, Yes, I had to take my bass boat to TX and is in good shape as I could cover it from the sun BUT did note that it did dry out some of the glue holding my rug in place. Fished in two bass clubs in the Austin area. Fished Amistad, Choke Canyon and the Colorado river system lakes of Austin, LBJ, and others. Did well catching some good sized ones. the Austin Reel bass fishermen there are as here.., great guys to know, friendly and welcome newbies young or old -- like me. If you're there for a spell or moving to Austin -- great club and has a web site.
But back to the labor side..... If ya have a suggestion, to quickly clean and renew my finish, please tell me.
Thanks in advance!!!!

Ed you are going to have to give out more information. What kind of siding are you talking about? Is it fiberglass with a gelcoat finish. Filon with gel coat, aluminum siding.
My 5er with filon fiberglass side has been settin out in the hot Texas sun on my deer lease for a year and a half.I recently put a RV port over it.The sideing was in pretty rough shape.I am using Protectall on the sideing and it is bring back the finish nicely without a lot of rubbing. It will look like new when I get finished.

As you can see, I live in Killeen. I recently spent 3 days with a small orbital polisher applying a good wax finish to my 32' fiberglass sided 5er. I do not believe there is an "easy" way to remove the oxidation. Don't forget the roof.
Nu-finish is a great product, use on 92' alum siding TT twice a year. takes oxidation off without too much elbo grease.

John from KC is right, I forgot to add the type of siding I have.
1. My Rv is a fiberglass gel coat siding.
2. In the past, I waxed the RV with Nu Finish car wax. For about first 6 mths there I was unable to do much because of an illness causing me to delay the inveitable task of caring the RV. And then I just got lazy....
Now I'm back to normal and need to correct my negilance.
Go to this site, Aurora, and look at the fiberglass boat section. I use it on my fiberglass boat and fiberglass RV siding. Absolutly great stuff. Take Care and Happy Camping, Doug
