Sometimes we take our trailer about an hour drive from the house for a one night trip. I get fresh water at my house and only put some water in the fresh water tank. I was wondering if there is a device that can count the amount of water that flows threw my hose so I know how much water I put in the tank. Right now I just watch the tank level indicator lights until it shows 1/4 full.

I just did a Google Search....there are quite a few out there!

Here's one

Don't know if it's worth the money, as a couple of gallons won't make that much difference in your mileage, and what you'd be saving in gas, you'd have just lost buying the meter......JMHO

Keep on doing as you're doing.

You could just fill a 5-gal bucket...time it, and then fill your tank for 3-4 times that amount, depending on how much you want to bring with you. Real basic, but it works

Ditto on the Flow meter. It's what we use. Feels a little cheap, but seems to work fine.

Am I the only one that has problems with those little green meters?

I bought two of them last summer and neither one work anymore.

Here's an even CHEAPER way - get a 5 gallon bucket... time how long it takes to fill with the faucet turned on to "x" position.

Let's say 2 minutes.

Now stick the hose in the fill opening on the trailer, turn the faucet to the "x" position, and let it go for:
2 minutes = 5 gallons.
10 minutes = 25 gallons.

You get the idea....

You Cali guys really need to learn to conserve water.

Use a one gallon jug for volume/time measurement. 1 gal=X minutes.

Thanks rv2go I just ordered one. My TH holds 110 gallon and our first trip our dry camping we ran out of water and we conserve well. Not sure it is holding what the manufacture says. The gauge will tell.

I have that green one and it's handy, but not all that accurate. Supposedly, my fresh tank is 150 gal, but I tried draining and filling it with the meter, and it only showed 120.

Good for general purposes, though, like adding a few gallons to black tank after dumping. I used it a lot at first to kinda get an idea, but not so much anymore.
