One itsy bitsy thing to do; make sure your "aux" tank is physically connected to your main tank. Many truck bed mounted tanks are NOT connected, to the main tank. They are classed as "transfer tanks".

There is a post about going to Mex for diesel on Glamisdunes.com. Two people were pulled into secondary inspection this weekend. After taking all their info, they were told all tanks have to be plumbed into the fuel system or its no longer legal. The BP guy even checked ones vehicle to make sure it was plumbed.

Sounds like someone wants to make sure they get their fuel tax $$...

my 2 cents worth

over the border 2 dollars 23 cents a gallon
This side of the border 4 dollars and 50 cents and above and rising.
record profit for the big oil companies, does not take a rocket scientist to figure this out.

How many of you have written letters to your elected officials who reside in Wash. DC to tell them how unhappy you are about the cost of your fuel. you take the time to write on these forums and drive hours to save dollars and cents but 15 mins to write your elected officials?? who are supposed to have our best interests at heart. they do not know what our best interests are if we do not tell them.

I have several times has it done any good? no. not yet, but if every one we know and including ourselves started writing letters our Elected officials who reside in our State capitols and in Wash DC we might be able to do something about this unacceptable Price (gouging?) and do something about our best interests

As usual when I post I always seem to offend someone, I apologize in advance
so Please Flame Away

Have a great day from Juneau Alaska

US insurance covers you to the border cities.

Yes, but the Mexican government doesn't recognize US insurance. Their law states that you need mexcan insurance. So if you're in an accident, or just get pulled over your car may be impounded and you could land in jail, even though your US carrier says you're covered.

Funny, how insurance is mandatory in Mexico...especially if you're from the US.

The only way it can change is if the US government nationalizes the oil industry. Otherwise we have to pay the same rates that the rest of capitalist societies pay.

Gas is cheap in countries where you don't want to live...non-western, non-capitalist countries.

I have a mexican that works with me, bring it across in cans every week.
Cheap and I don't have to worry about being kidnapped, (or wait in line.)

Glamis...why go anywhere else?

I hate to do it but if the price of diesel is below $3 per gallon then I will start taking my truck on my next Tecate and by the insurance.

If you already have an Aux tank, it might be worth the time and effort to go to TJ for diesel. However, you may experience this "

Gas stations await delivery of diesel fuel " when you get there...

Good luck

that is typical UT BS. However, I'm glad they publish it. Too bad its our only paper though. One station thus far. I will be filling up at the Otay crossing next week. My guess is they will have plenty there so they can get all that salmonella to the US for us to eat!

Well I bought my first 120 gallons. Truck runs great and from what I've been told, the higher sulfur will lube the injectors better since that was the fuel sold when the truck was purchased.

The Pemex attendant was a nice guy. He said they were on rations but $10 covered that issue. All in all, it was $2.35 per gallon with the ration fee. That sure cut our summer vacation cost down!
