My Thetford cassette toilet is stained blue from flushing, there's quite a buildup despite regular cleaning. Any ideas of how to remove the stain? We're trying to sell our PUP and I know it wouldn't look good to me if I were the prospective buyer! I've tried gentle cleansing, and more abrasive stuff, even though you're not supposed to, nothing really even makes a dent. I haven't tried any products specifically made by Thetford, would they make a difference?
Thanks for your help!!

I dont think that blue color will come off easy, if you ever got any on your fingers trying to pop that seal off, it dosent come off it wears off. I dont think that you want to use an abrasive on your bowl it will become a problem colecting matter if not wet, I dont know about soft scrub with bleach, or just bleach in the bowl to soak. of course you could call Tedford they might have some ideas.

If the bowl is stained from Blue deodorizer, the toilet seals are likely damaged as well. The deodorizer is not recommended to be used in any flush water tank in a cassette toilet or a porta potty. Many confuse the blue deodorize for the European rinse chemical that's not available in the US or Canada, that would go into the flush water tank. Thetford has acknowledged the problem or confusion with US owners, but strongly caution against using the blue deodorizer as it will damage interior seals in the flush system.
If the stained do not come out, it's a caution sign to new users that serious damage could already be done to the toilet.
The blue chemical will not come out of the soft plastic toilet material without harsh chemicals, that would likely do more additional damage to the toilet.
I would just leave it and hope the new buyers don't find this a problem.
Fill the toilet with water and add some borax. At this point it certainly won't hurt. Don't use an abrasive!! It will make it worse. It will be especially bad when the new owners curse you for messing up the toilet and not telling them. (J/K) Borax is natural and odor free.
The chemical is supposed to go in the black holding tank. My husband decided to try the chemical in the water tank and it was awful! I don't know how you could stand the smell.
The only other product I would suggest is "Nature Bright" by Shaklee. I got a big ink blotch off of my daughter's white cotton skirt with this product. Again...it is all natural. Goes for $9.00 a bag (it is an excellent laundry booster...I also steam clean my carpets with it)
