As you can see on my profile pic that the the arm brackets are mounted above the bay doors. As for anything else make sure that the measurements are right for the proper length arms.

GrammaAnn.. You may require a trip to your local rv lot/dealer or call an RV awning sales. which ever way you choose, you will get more than enough info on cost, sizing, materials available, instalation procedures,ectra.. Doing your info gathering on the web is ok for some things , but seeing on paper,or better yet in person is better.. talk eather over the phone or at an installation place, the many different companies that do Awnings. Ask for brochures. Take some time in picking as you will need to live with the choise for a long time..

Yes, thank you both. I do intend to take it to have it fitted etc. It just was a discussion Oscar and I were having. The main point was where the arms could go ( can not block the handicap lift door, or main door), and we just wondered if the arms would be mounted below the bays. Seemed a long way for an arm, but had never thought about it before.
The awning will not be able to extend beyond the doors due to the roof configuration.
We like to have as much pre-information as possible before going to the RV places.
Are all the arms the same width ( the actual arm, not distance between ) ? Just another thought bouncing around in the old noggin!!
The bottom brackets are normally put in a certain area that has been reinforced by the coach maker. It is usually about floor height. you can not just mount it anywhere or a strong wind may tear the siding on the coach and pull out from the wall.
