We alway leave the things at the campsite that we don't want any longer. Why put it in the dumpster if it's still usable.

Imagine that if you had a metal detector, you'd find even more semi-buried treasures....

Wow all I've ever found is a small Bungee cord and a 30/20 amp converter plug. On the bright side I don't think I've left anything important behind so I guess it's a wash for me.

David used to buy those metal y connectors for the water spigot, but had to quit as he left too many behind .. now we don't use them on the weekend trips or while traveling.

Last summer a very attractive, very well built blond with a restored vintage Airstream TT left behind a cast aluminum jack stand. Figuring getting another one that was over 50 years old would be difficult, I made sure it got put in the lost and found room at the main office and that she was called so she knew it was safe.

When she came back to pick it up she made a special trip over to our camping unit to give me a big hug.

A bit of sage advice.
Don't try that in Canada. We have a law here, it's called Theft by Finding. Carries the same penalties as a blatant theft.

Great law!!! Canada rocks!!! Sometimes we don't seem very civilized, I think. We could learn from other countrys.

I do believe that before you >KimdorthMy new hobby< I did turn in all I found to the camp host, yes we did set buy the fire that night with Jack Daniel's.
However I could have done like you said , and leave the bottle there, and who knows maybe some kids would have found it .

Drat, all I ever find is a mess that someone else left

I have managed to leave things behind........pressure reducers, hose splitters, I left a patio mat behind once (no, I don't know how I managed that). And I am constantly forgetting my leveling boards. I am way behind. And that's not counting the AC shroud I left somewhere on the highway last weekend. Anyone see one on I-20 just west of Weatherford Texas?

I have a brand new (expensive) pressure regulator and hose wye because I left the cheap ones behind.

I found out that a new awning strap wand isn't cheap because I didn't put the original away once the awning was closed. I think I left it dangling from the strap. I hope it didn't go thru someone's radiator or windshield.

I carry a dog food/water dish in the car. Years ago on a trip I left the original one at a rest area.
