This weekend, I took my 2005 Raptor 3612ds out for the second time (I bought it used 2 months ago). The owner of the campground came by to visit and told me he had a 2005 Raptor just exactly like mine. He went on to ask if I had the A/C retro-fit performed? According to him, the hole for the primary A/C was a/b 4 inches too long at one end allowing the majority of cool air to flow into the rafters of the coach. Since I bought it used, I told him I was unaware if the repair had been made.
Is anyone else out there aware of such an issue? If so, how do you verify whether the repair has been made on a used unit? If it has not been made, what are my chances of having a Raptor dealer make the repair?
I pulled mine apart a while back and sealed it up. Yes there were some gaps and air loss but it was an easy fix with some expanded foam and aluminum tape.
I'll make a call to a friend at the dealer I work with, I was never aware of any official recall. It may have been a narrow focus recall. I had an 05 as well, kept us plenty cool when we used it. Which thankfully wasn't very often.
