while other have disagreed with me I think it started last fall, with the snowbirds... SW FL CG's were like ghost towns until late Jan. and the no vacancy sign was only out two weeks instead of two months... things thinned out much sooner also...

memorial day was busy all around here, but other than that it has been pretty slow for both seasonal and transient...

I think June is usually slow, and has a lot to do with school's just getting out, then graduations and weddings keeping some at home...

what I did notice was on a 100 mile trip down I-79 and back the other day I only saw one camper the whole time... with no less than 7 or 8 CG's within a few miles from here seeing RV's on the local roads is, shall I say a common sight, but not this year so far...

It was Very tough to get any reservations in AZ last year. This year, much easier! I was in Northern AZ over Memorial Day, CG was 100% full as of Sunday, lots of vacancies before that. I'm thinking gas prices are effecting how many people are camping!

I'll know next weekend when we head out to one of our local COE parks. Our previous trip, last month, was a family rally, so that makes it a little difficult to gage.

I can say that I frequently see a fair number of RV's on the road every Friday afternoon.

We are going to Holly Shores near Wildwood NJ next Monday. Should be interesting if the same lack of campers happens again. They get a lot of people from Canada. Wonder if it will be full.

Our campground was fairly quiet this weekend, but the weather wasn't great either. The next few weekends will be a better gauge now that school is out and (hopefully) the weather improves.

The CG we were at was only about 15% of capacity (including a large number of seasonal sites). The weather was in the 90's, but I would have still thought that more people would come out.

We had tornados and heavy rains hit our area, I hope the parks were not full.
