My 2004 Terry (GVWR 9600#) came with Marathons and I have had no problems with them yet. I know from reading the comments here that the tires should be replaced about every 4 years but the tread is very good and there are no cracks on the side walls. I keep the max recommended pressure (50 lbs) in them at all times and run 62 on the interstates. I would have no problems replacing them with new Marathons. I don't know about Maxxis tires but a lot of people like them.

I am partial to Goodyear and run them on the Honda van and my truck. And although I have not used either Marathon or Maxxis I plan to get Maxxis for my trailer when the time comes.

IMO you are very lucky to not have had problems... with a GVWR of 9600# and tires with a max load of 8600#... I don't buy or prescribe to the line that the tongue is carrying the other 1000#...
I wish you continued good luck with them, and suggest replacing them with a load range D tire when the time comes...

Maxxis (what I currently have) has so far been highly rated but lately I have seen some negative post about them to... there just may not be enough of them around for a long enough time yet... and time will tell I guess...

with marathons being transplanted to China their past record, be it good or bad has little meaning, when the quality control of all products or mfg process of goods from there has been called into question time and time again...

I'm nowhere near 9600, I'm probably about 1/2 that since I have an ultra-light 23' hybrid.

I pulled the trigger on the Maxxises, or is it Maxxi? I have a trip coming up so I want to have time to have them delivered and mounted.

Thanks everyone for their input.

I got the tires from Select Tire, which I found out is a sister company to Unser Tire. Select came out the cheapest since the 205/75/14 tires were $65 plus tax (since they are in Florida), plus $10 shipping per tire.

For some reason, the sister company Unser was a little higher at $82 per tire, but they included shipping.

Tires Easy also carries Maxxis, but they wanted $75.20 plus $23 shipping per tire.
