yes, very interesting:
JK Key-off position = .01 amps draw
JK Key-off position w/underhood light on = .96 amps draw (just a reference)
JK Ign 1st Click = 2.45 amps draw!!! (Also, in this mode there is a relay that cylces every 50 seconds tht briefly draws more current)
JK Ign 1st Click; IOD Fuse Pulled = .17 amps draw
OK, so these are the results which are a little suprising. With the IOD fuse left in place, 2.45 amps/hr x 12 hours = ~30 Amp/hrs which is probably about 1/2 (or more) of the total battery capacity of the JK battery.
Recommendation: If you're flat-towing the JK, lift up the cover on the fuse panel immediately in front of the battery. Lift up the Ignition Off Draw (IOD) Fuse. It is a 60A fuse and it has a holder with white "ears" to help you lift it up.

No first hand experience, but that is what this information would lead you to believe.

I used to tow with the IOD pulled. As another poster mentioned the more you pull this fuse the more woren out it gets. The last couple of times towing, I didn't pull the fuse and the Jeep started fine. However, I don't think it's a good idea to draw down a standard battery all the time, so I'm probably going to install a cut-off switch.

I pull the IOD fuse and it works great. I will start keeping a close eye on the tightness of the fuse after reading the above information. I have towed about 10,000 miles with no problems as of yet.
I have towed for a short distance without the battery disconnected or the IOD fuse pulled, and if it is more than about 15 miles the Jeep sets a check engine light. The IOD fuse is the way to go, I don't lose any information in the MyGig but it does go to AM when the power is restored.

We tow our 07 Wrangler. Just pull the IOD fuse, see picture. If your coach uses the same bulb for blinking as it does for brake lights and want to use the factory Jeep lights you should also pull the M1 fuse. The M1 fuse will stop the brake light switch on the Jeep from over riding the brake light signal from the coach. If you are interested a company called CooltechLLC sells a great wiring harness that is plug and play.

You won't loose any stored channels in the radio or computer related items. Even the factory pulls the IOD fuse when they ship the Jeeps to the dealer. No need to disconnect the battery.

After reading the manual it says to flat tow I need to remove the neg. battery pole / clamp ? Why ?
You really just need to pull the IOD fuse. Check out this newly reconstituted JK towing thread. It explains the why and how of it. I haven't heard of anyone "wearing out" the IOD fuse holder yet on an 07-08 JK. I suppose anything is possible but there is much more in the world to worry about
