I have a 2007 Chevy Siverado diesel and I was just wondering...what should the oil pressure be at? Under normal circumstances I seem to be running at 200-300 KPa (Canadian guage). This is without towing. What about with towing- does it change? Never paid much attention to this but I recently thought my guage reading looked low after my last oil change.

30 psi is normal on my o8 GMC Dmax towing or not. You may want to check dieselplace.com for more info.

Did you use thinner oil at your last change? Is it warmer than your last oil change?

I'll leave the metric conversion up to you, but down here in the states, When driving at highway speeds they should run about 60 psi and at idle it is about 25-30 psi depending on temp. When cold, they go as high seen as 80-90 psi. on accelleration.

It's a 2007, still under warranty. If you're worried, take it in to dealer.

Mine '08 (LMM) generally runs in the low-mid 30's at road speed/temp, regardless if pulling or not.

My '03 (LB7) runs just slightly higher.

Mine runs upper end of guage, like 60-70 when cold and starting. It will idle at 25-30. When on freeway at speed in the 45 range unloaded. When loaded in 5th around 45, in 4th 60-70. 02 lb7.

If you want reliable info on the dmax/allison, don't ask the questions on this site. Go to dieselplace.com. Most comprehensive dmax site there is. Do a search there are literally thousands of pages of information. If you had it happen someone on that site has had it happen and they can help you out.

The answer is it depends on your oil viscosity, oil temperature, and RPM. Idle of 15 psi is not unusual, with 90 psi for cold wx starts.

Me too. My buddies 04 is very low compared to mine for example, but it's normally that way (and causes no issues) from what I've read.

200 Kpa = 29 psi
250 Kpa = 36 psi
300 Kpa = 43 psi
350 Kpa = 50 psi
