Just moved from a Tent trailer to a new Class A. I bought a 2007 coach that is brand new (well never sold). I got a gift certificate from wally world as part of the package when I bought the couch so I can buy the essentials. So my question to you all is what are the essentials (Must haves) besides the sewer hoses?
Thanks in advance
Kevin

1)Enough freshwater hose to park wherever and have a replacement ready when you need it.
2)Backflush/cleaning equipment for your tanks
3)Whichever chemicals you will use to clean tanks and sensors
4)Fresh water filtration & cartridges
5) Motor oil
6) Duct tape
7) Some eternabond, if you can get it
8) Butyl sealant and caulk gun
9) Bungees, bungess, bungees
10) Lubricants for your slide(s) and generator
11) Tarp, tarp tie-downs
12) patio mat or rug
13) Basic toolkit including ratchet set
14) About 14 billion of those 1/2" screws they used for everything
15) a good marine-grade glue
16) Cleaners and wax for your exterior
17) Vacuum, if one isn't built in
18) Spare fuses - check to see what kinds you may need
19) Multimeter, test probe, fuse tester, test leads (just finally got all that myself - shoulda done it ages ago)
20) Emergency road kit and first aid kit
21) Funnel or water bottle for your batteries
22) Hand-crank radio, flashlight(s), and battery-powered fan(s)
23) Every kind of battery you use - piles of 'em
24) Emergency rations/water
25) Firesafe for important items (if one isn't built in)
26) Fire extinguisher
27) 12V battery charger
and
28) Plastic pocket pages to add to your owner manuals as you buy all this stuff
so you'll have the directions/instructions/warrantees/service numbers where you can find them easily.
29) Oh yeah - spare stinky slinky.
I think that's most of it. Items 6-11, 13-15, and 18-24 and 26-27 are the biggies. Those will get you out of most of the jams you will eventually get yourself into.
You can add to as you find the need, of course. I would not (now) drive across town without those essentials I mentioned. You just bought a great big ol' box of shake, rattle and roll. Whether it does so gracefully or unmercifully is an unknown, and you don't want to be finding out the hard way. Buy what you can at CW. You'll get more selection there, but more favorable prices at Walmart/NAPA/Autozone/Harbor Freight.
My suggestion is to set up in your driveway just like you would in a campground. every time you think of something you need jot it down. When you make your first few trips be sure and have note paper for those things you did not think of. Walmart has a good RV section and the prices are right.
Best Wishes for your future travels
