Hey There
Can anbody tell me what is required to get the wire harness (7 pin) to the bed for a 5th wheel on a 2001 Dodge 3500. Posting for a friend. Thanks. Jack
The Thermos keeps hot things hot and cold things cold. How does it know?
On my 04 DRW it had it already on when I bought it used but it looks like they spliced into the bumper plug and ran it to the side where they drilled for the new one.

There is an adapter you can get that you disconnect the plug for the bumper mounted socket. The adapter plugs in between the male and female connectors and it pigtails up so you can wire in a socket mounted in the truck bed. The kit looks like this

but you may be able to find it cheaper.

I'm not sure about your year but if equiped with the camper package from the factory the plug should already be at the rear of the truck under the bumper. It only requires the pruchase of a brake controller and pluging it into the existing plug/harness under the dash near the fuse panel. If not equiped with the camper package then the charging wire and brake controller wires need to be run from the front of the truck while the lights can be run from the rear connector that an above poster mentioned.
