Every 20 minutes or so the water pump cycles on for less than a second when not in use. I assume it's losing pressure somewhere via a very slow leak. Is this right?

Built-in check valve prevents back flow within the water pump, it doesn't mean you have an external water leak. Changes in night temps and day temps will also change the pressure and cause the pump to activate. Mine comes on a few times a day, it's not a big deal. The pump could probably be at fault unless you have water on the floor somewhere.

Check and make sure that there is not a small drip from one of the faucets, even a small drip will cause a pressure drop and cause the pump to cycle. (If you have an outside shower check it too). JMHO

It's possible it's just "catching up" - if you run water for just a second or so, the pump may not run then, but will "catch up" on the pressure somewhat later. The pump will be less likely to do this if you add an accumulator. We've added accumulators to both our trailers and were happy we did; the pump (and noise) runs less often.

If it's every 20 minutes or so I would suspect a small leak somewhere. I'm certainly not an expert but when I experienced a similar pattern of cycling I had a very small leak in the h2o line going into the toilet. Never would have known it otherwise. It was in the connectors between the lines.

I would say that it is just the pump building pressure back up after losing it.

Could also be the diaphragm, we have a crack in ours, pump will cycle about every hour or so. I just turn it off at night. Try and tighten up the screws on the front of the pump, maybe they backed out a little.

for the pump to activate the pressure has to drop... if you haven't used any water the pressure shouldn't drop enough to cycle the pump... meaning there is something leaking... as stated in a earlier post the check valve could be leaking water back into the FWT or there is a leak that is worth tracking down... both scenarios are pretty common...
