Like "clokman", I had to drive two hours to get a good deal but saved a bunch. Got a 34% discount from RV Direct in Albany. Their salesperson said that they can do it because they sell very rapidly, so don't have the high interest costs. In other words, they sell volume to make their profit. Good luck on getting your deal!

Hold to the 30%. Everything is in your favor. Gas prices, low TT sales, etc..

Have the mindset to walk away and do it if they do not budge. They may suprise you and call back in a week or so with the 30% off. Your first mistake was settling for the 22% and now the dealewr knows that so I think that would be the best you'll get that dealer to. Try another dealer and don't settle for anything below the 30%.

My last purchase was with a quotation from RV Wholesalers on the negotiation table with me willing to walk away. The dealer came back $800.00 more than the RV Wholesalers quote. If you are willing to drive to the wholesaler you are willing to walk away from the dealership and they won't want to lose the sale. Expect to pay about $1,000 more than the RV Wholesalers or RV Direct quote. They still need to make money and the service from the dealer is well worth the $1,000 more.

Good luck!!! Remember, this is the fun part. It's only fun when you know you can walk away. At that point its a really fun game to get them to your price.

The deal fell through, in our last conversation the salemen's tone change. He pissed me off so my offer is off the table. I personally can't beleve in todays market they let us walk over $1000 but owell.

I'm going to talk to another dealer about ordering this model. Thier a much smaller dealer in a small town 45 miniutes away. We'll see what happens there.

I don't think Spree has any wholesalers. You have to work the dealer market (I have a Spree 318BHS LX and I like it allot). If you call KZ or visit their web site you should be able to get a list of dealers. If Colorado is like Maryland, their going to be few and far between.

Don't burn any bridges with the local dealer, but if you visit some of the more remote dealers, perhaps you can negotiate with them. If not, then you can always return to the local dealer.

SilnJohn your dealer and mine must be related. Our stories are exactly the same, even down to the dollar amount! I think you are doing the right thing.

I think the timing indicates what your chances are. Once you haven't heard from them in a few days, you are more likely to have to compromise or look elsewhere.

The only disadvantage to asking for too much is the poosibility that you might have to give in to get the coach you want. No real long term harm in trying.

I'm kind of lucky in Colorado in that 5 dealers in the state carry the spree line, 3 are within an hour of my house. Unfortunately only this first dealer had the 210KS in inventory. The others we'll have to place an order with.

Thats the main reason we ended up with a Jayco.... the KZ dealer was not willing to deal at all ... did the 1 month call back, still no deal - the moral of this story is do not get attached to any one brand as there are several that are of the same quality. (The Jayco ended up being $500 less than I could get from RV Direct when delivery was added in).

The other side of the story is that there is nothing wrong with getting attached to one trailer. You may have to pay more, but so what? In the over all scheme of things $1000 more for something you really like is better than $1000 less on something you will never truly enjoy.

And I'd even go further. If you can't get a good price on what you want elsewhere, I'd go back to the original dealer but get a new salesperson. There are many salespeople that are jerks. By letting the manager know what you think of the jerk you may help get him/her fired--which he evidently should be.

To ArnieJ-NH,
How do you like your 25F? right now I am working with RVDirect on trading in my 2007 Jayco 213 EXP which is great, but looking for a unit with a side slide out for more living space. Bought the 213 last Labor Day weekend!

Thanks,
Mike
