For those of you that frequent the Wisconsin Dells and are planning on watching the Tommy Bartlett show, you will need to make other arrangements. During the 10+ inches of rain this past weekend, a man-made dam burst and drained the lake. It is a real shame because the Tommy Bartlett show and Lake Delton has been a major vacation stop in the Dells area for many years. here's a link to photos: Tommy Bartlett Show Bleachers

Bummer for many involved - the homeowners who lost their houses, the Tommy Bartlett Show, and anyone making their livelihood in/around Lake Delton. Sad to see.

Just some quick facts from a local yoco...
It was a land bridge that washed out, not the dam. The dam is in perfect shape, which is why refilling the lake will go much quicker. The draining of the lake - which in most places is 8 to 10 feet deep doesn't effect that much of the Dells/Lake Delton businesses. In fact the lake had NO EFFECT on 93% of the businesses in the area. So contrary to reports THE DELLS ARE NOT CLOSED FOR THE SEASON!!! In fact the Tommy Bartlett Stage and Sky show will resume business tomorrow at 4:30 pm.
At this stage the Governor will do everything in his power to get the land bridge patched, the lake filled, and business as usual on Lake Delton ASAP - I'd venture most back to normal by mid July.

Good to know! News reports have been saying a dam let go.
Still a huge bummer for those folks whose houses are now floating - in pieces - down the Miss. River...

Thanks for the update Car Guy. I also saw that the Tommy Bartlett show is bringing back some of their past talent like Wes Harrison (Mr. Sound Effects). That is great news and I might try to make a trip there to support our Northern Neighbors.

Just to update I-90/94 to the Dells is open and running clean in both directions! Flooding issues have been handled - Lake Delton Reconstruction is getting underway. Lower Wisconsin River actions were taken to eleviate flooding concerns downstream. All is well!
As a side note - Mt. Olympus Water and Theme park is giving FREE admission to all the people who had reservations booked with resorts around Lake Delton! How decent is that?
A lot to see and do in Wisconsin and Wisconsin Dells!
See you all soon!
