What keeps these closed in transit? Just curious as we need every cubic inch up there in our Roo.

Good grief man, where do all you people get the extra time to do this stuff?

Cool mod - you did a nice job.

Open one of your drawers in the lower cabinet. If you look underneath the drawer, you will see one of the compression latches like on all the hinged doors around the camper. I don't have any pictures of them installed yet. I can take a couple tonight.

I figured this would be a love/hate mod, since many people use every square inch of that cabinet. I just can't see how it could be organized into useful space...hence the drawers.

Fortunately, if we end up wanting the space back later on, I didn't do anything to permanently damage the cabinet. All the slide mounting can come out easily. Plugging a hole in the middle of the door would be about the only visual blemish if we returned them back to doors.

Extra? I have no extra time. I would challenge anyone looking for time(as it is generally just lost, not extra) to take a notepad and write down for 1 day each and everything you do all day long(from getting a glass of water to hitting the can), both at work and at home, from the time you open your eyes in the morning until the time you shut your eyes in bed at night.

I would be surprised if you are not surprised how you spend your time each day. I have done it and have been very surprised how I spend my hours. Concentrate on finding lost hours not looking for extras...

FWIW, I have 2 trips to Home Depot and 2 1/2 evenings worth of work into this project. This includes the kids playing outside on one of the evenings which translates into, "Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad" "WHAT!" "What are you doing?" being asked and answered about 300 times in the course of an hour or so. So maybe 4-6 hours of real work and another hour or so of pondering howtodoit time.

My wife's a shorty, when she see's that side peek she may like the plan. But I'd never do it right, we'd end up with neither cabinets nor drawers and probably half the Roo cut up by the time I did it.

But wanted to ask you since you also have a 2009 23SS with same interior color anyway as us, did you also have the same configuration on the cabinets on the other side ? meaning the tv shelf instead of a cabinet over there and the (can't wait to find out if it is a piece of junk like most say) radio/cd/etc. scooted over? If so, have you done anything to mod that configuration? we pick ours up Saturday and that will be among our first decisions.

Nope...fortunately, I got one of the first 09s labels off the line, so we don't have the tv shelf. I fished a 110V line up into the cabinet for monitor power and VGA tuner box power and mounted my screen to the wall with some big half inch diameter wall shanks. The mount is solid, but i do remove the screen from the wall when traveling.
