Okay people here is another question. I know it seems the tiffen is more popular than other ones. But what about Coachman,Georgie boy and Fourwinds? I have found some used ones but don't know for sure. We have been class c and now want to move to something with more space but to many of them out there. And seems to be very hard to find a used Allegro that is in good shape.

In good shape or good shape and cheap? I have looked at Tiffen and saw plenty that were nice in and out, but quality isn't cheap. I don't think Tiffen is a huge manufacturer and does have a loyal bunch of owners. Any time that happens the price stays up.

Not to offend anybody, but the coaches you mentioned are like comparing a Chevy to a Lexus. There are a lot more Chevy's on the road than Lexus's. Therefore more Chevy's for sale. Take your time and I am sure you will find the Allegro you want. We narrowed our choice to a Travel Supreme and it took 6 months to find the one we wanted and that was when the market was hot. I wish I were shopping now, what a time to buy.

Believe it or not the Tiffin Motor Homes are head and shoulders above the others you mentioned. Known for their quality and dependability - I am suprised that the ones you're looking at are in sad repair - blame that on the owners.
That being said the other three are about equal. IMHO

The others you have listed are not in the same league as a Tiffen, Newmar, or a Monaco product. Those are your top 3 gas models in an A class in quality and service. The second and subsequent owner customer service, is only available from Tiffen and Monaco, as the other manufactures treat you like you have the pox, once the warranty is gone. Just keep looking, you will find what you want, if it's meant to be.

I agree with Tiffin, Newmar and Monaco and I would include Winnebago in any discussion about quality class A's.

There is a used one just down the street from here but have not looked at it just. It is a 2004 Allegro bay for about 60000 and a Chevy chassie. Here is another question on about 32ft to 35ft models. Do most of them get about 8mpg and the diesels get about 10 or they just trying to blow smoke up my you know what. But time will tell on what we do.

Watch this one get them going: IMHO, Yes, the diesel will certainly give you 30 to 40% better mileage.

Take the "quoted" MPG and divide by the cubic feet of smoke from an average campfire...and then multiple that number by the bottles of "suds" someone has consumed!! I get "about" 105 miles to the gallon!!

Actually though you had best figure on 8 for a gasser and about the same for a diesel...mainly because the diesel is heavier. These things aint no econo bus by no means!
