Head north do the UP of Michigan...Mackinaw area, Pictured Rocks, Keewanau, Apostle Islands, Duluth and at least half the north Shore then down to the "cities", great way to miss Chicago.

Suggest you write to the convention bureaus of both states as they are very good at sending out info. We are currently in Oshkosh WI. There are a lot of things here relating to aircraft as the EAA fly in is here in August. Much more. Quite a lot of rain and flooding right now but by July it should be much better. We plan to be here then.

See you there. We will be in Bloomington, IL to put on a Rally for 250 members of the Caterpillar RV Engine Owners Club and will then head north along the Mississippi River to St Paul.

I think it depends on what types of things you like to do or see. If your anything like me, then you would really enjoy the one suggestion already and go up along the great lakes and up the North Shore a little ways to some of the state parks (gooseberry falls, splitrock lighthouse)...then back down interstate 35 to St Paul. You can base camp in Two Harbors at the muni campground called Burlington Bay which site on the shores of Lake Superior. If you want an one or two night base to walk around in Duluth, we have stayed at Lakehead Boat Basin. Basically a secured parking lot with full hook ups and a nice view. (used for dry docking boats in the winter. Duluth has some neat historical things to do also such as train and ship museums. If you like gambling you can hit Grand Casino on the way toward the St Paul half way from Duluth. Nice RV Park and large fun casino. Near the south end of the cities you got the Zoo and Mall of America. Mystic Lake casino also has a nice RV park near that area called Dakota Meadows. All depends on what types of activities and sights you like....

We'll be coming from Colorado. Were coming up through Sioux City, IA and angle up along Highway 60 coming into the Twin Cities from the southwest. On our way home we're planning on the factory tour at Winnebago.

Some good suggestions, Thank You Enjoy the convention, we were at Buffalo a few years ago and liked it. Hoping this one is good too, but we're sure it will be.

Word of caution for the St Paul FMCA convention. Do not use your GPS to find your way to the convention. A member has tried the routes that a GPS will take you and one route will take you under a 10ft overpass. Another route will take you to some streets where you will not be able to make a tight turn with a motorhome.

Stick to the routes provided by FMCA and all will be well.
