Going to Powell, taking Rhino, truck and renting 2 jet skis.... Gonna burn some fuel!!!!!
Amen to that! Since I don't see the costs ever coming down, I just need to learn deal with it, and make adjustments for the costs. I don't care what the cost, I'm not throwing in the towel, I'll just adapt.

Some things I've been trying to do. I'm not cancelling anything for starters. Life's too short for that! I slowed my driving speed down. I get upto 50 extra miles down the road on a tankfull by slowing from 70 plus MPH to 65MPH. I don't worry too much about the extra time it takes to get there. I also find driving is less stressfull, I just let 'em all go by. I also have starting inviting more friends along with their bikes and we split the fuel costs, food, alcohol and campground costs, works out better for all. Independence Day, you'll find me in Daytona at the races!!!
Maybe it just me but I find myself in a good place. I can either
#1- spend the fuel money and go away for the holidays
or
#2- I can at stay home, save the fuel and have the wife and daughter say they are going to the mall. Either way I'm spending the $$. Might as well do something I enjoy too.
Not yet for me...We're going to Laughlin, full hook ups for 4 days is 80.00. Casinos, river and buffets. Cheaper than running my generator for 4 days...

Never had a Trip planned, Kids are flying out for a month to stay with grandparents in TX. I can see how some of you say, yeah it will ONLY cost an extra $50-100 for the trip, but what they are not seeing is how much some of us are spending meanwhile. As for me I was spending about $200 a week on Diesel, Now I am spending $550 a week just for work, That is more than my mortgage payment. I also know a guy how runs a window cleaning business and has 5 trucks, his gas bill a month went from $2,000 to almost $5,000 a month. Think about those numbers in the long run, not for a single trip.

Were taking the Summer off as far as camping/riding goes, too hot for us in SoCal anyways.
Come September the T V/T H and toys will be ready for some fun.
Going to catch up on some home work
We will just cut back somewhere else to cover the increase in fuel costs, like NOT stopping for fast food while traveling, we can prepare some food in advance and stop and eat as needed.
Many, Many things we can do to save a few bucks a day.
Most of our trips are around 100 to 120 miles each way, so I think everything will be O K.
I know many people who have lost their job recently, Very Sad indeed.

I fully agree. It's the long term results that people are missing. We are going to see a steady increase in the cost of all goods and services where fuel is a component cost of the business. I believe there will be a real life style change for average Americans over the next few years. The glory days may be gone for good if energy prices aren't brought back to realistic values. The speculators have caused the crude value to be 100 times higher than it needs to be.
