I didn't think it would work on wasp but read it on the forum a few years ago and tried it and it really works as for mud dobbers!!! I would think so but don't know for sure go for it, it's worth a try and let us know if it works.

Things you learn on this forum, I'll be purchasing those collars my self if it will keep critters out of the coach.

Thanks,

Would placing moth balls in and around these vents act as a repellent for wasps, yellow jackets, etc., when your RV is not in use? (Goes without saying, remove moth balls before using the RV).

Be careful with the yellow jackets, they'll sting the hell out of you. Especially the little ones that make the paper nest. (which is more than likely what those are). Mud daubers won't sting you. They just make mud pies! (well actually storage tubes for food).

Like Don Don said, put up screens, ... after you eliminate YJ's. Clean out any Dauber tubes.

Please don't assume that mud daubers do not sting. They can deliver very painful stings and if you happen to be allergic you can be in serious trouble .....

Thanks for all the replies. I was able to cover the inside of the vent with fiberglass screen door screen. Even painted the faded plastic vent cover while I was at it. No more problems.

Perhaps the Yellow Jackets don't like the smell of fresh paint any more than flea collars.

I don't know how much resistance to Air screen would create

However you might wish to hang a "No pest strip" in the compartment for a few days,, Then clean it out (routine maintenance cleaning)

NOTE on No-Pest strips.. Wear gloves (Latex or "Exam" gloves When working with the strip and dispose of the glove following HAZ-MAT procedures

(You pull the 1st glove off by gripping the outside of the glove with the 2nd, you then slip your now bare fingers inside the 2nd glove and turn it inside out over the 1st glove so you only touch the INSIDE of the glove, which now that i'ts inside out, is the outside)
