We moved up from a PUP to our 21SSO 3 years ago and love it. My wife likes the bathroom and I love the fridge. It is roomy and we have had many people staying in it during bad weather.
You still get the open feeling that you used to have and the beds are comfortable enough for us.
You do have to set it up and take it down but I feel it is easier than our PUP. If you are doing a lot of traveling in it, this part might get a little old. As we near retirement and think of hitting the road to see some new country the TT is starting to look better. But for now, we really like camping in our Starcraft. They are good units.
I can't really add anything to the reply's that have been posted other than to say we have been very happy with the quality of the product (we're on our third season with a 21SSO), the space it has, and the support we have received from the factory.
I decided to modify the front closet to make more room for hang-up clothes and needed some pieces and parts that matched the finish of the "wood". I have the advantage of being close enough to the factory to pay them a visit and they gave me several pieces of material for my project.
We moved up from a pop-up too and wouldn't go back for anything.
A minor, but appreciated advantage of a hybrid not found in a popup is the ability to just setup one bed. I have camped solo several times attending out-of-town events and I just drop one. The popup required both to be run out.
Minor but appreciated.
The freezer will keep ice cream brick hard and make ice. Remember those little ice trays Mom used at home back in the dark ages before ice makers? They still work!
Another advantage is you're never more than 25 feet from a bathroom on the road. One of my "girls" developed a bladder infection and the panic of finding a clean bathroom went away completely with the Roo. "Grab me a pop while you're back there, OK?"
