I have a 2008 Forest River Cherokee 39BS. It has a 21ft. awning which did not come with the center support. Is this normal for Forest River? Did anyone get the center support with theirs and I just got jipped out of mine?....lol Thanks for everyone's help in advance!

Call your dealer and ask them. If it's sagging, you could probably get them to put one on for nothing. Otherwise, i'm sure you can add one for really cheap.

Picked up a 2009 Salem LA292FKSS on 5/31/08 with a 21ft electric awning and it did not have a center support. Looking into adding one but with the electric feature further research is warranted for correct operation.

Yea, I bought one already from another dealer for $130, it's not sagging but if I should have gotten one with the trailer, I would like to know.

Mine didn't have one either.
It was one of the first things that I added once I got it home, it and a slide out awning.

Holy Cow, makes me thankful for my short trailer AND short awning...

Have a 2008 Forest River 31 foot Class C Sunseeker and awning doesn't have a center support. I haven't had any problem. Previous Class C (1997) didn't have center support either - never had problem....
Did you get cheated - I don't think so........

I have the 21ft awning and mine didn`t come with the center support either. I installed just the roller tube support. mine only sagged in the middle when rolled up. it is now straight when stored and doesn`t collect water anymore when rolled up.

Our 34' Citation has a 21' awning, and it indeed came with the center support. I recall reading somewhere that a center support is recommended/needed any time the awning is 20' or longer.

I don't think RV dealers are necessarily *obligated* to provide such, so wouldnt say anyone was necessarily cheated (unless it was specifically ordered as part of the deal and not provided). I believe this is typically an option you have to specify (and pay extra for) when ordering a trailer.

For a 21' awning, I'd highly recommend getting one. Your awning may not sag now, but give it a few years, may be a different story.
