From what I hear, it is a fairly simple process. The easiest way is for the buyer in Canada to import it and you drive it to Canada for him. You have to fill out the proper papers which is fairly simple from what I hear. There is an import Fee of approximately $200 -$250 CAD and it has to be inspected, usually by Canadian tire who is authorized by Customs and Immigration. Thousands of Canadians are importing RV's now.
I believe it really doesn't matter who actually drives the unit, the important element is adhering to the import process required by the regulations. Truckers and transporters cross vehicles all day long for other people.

I'd call the border you plan to cross at and ask them exactly what is needed/required and take note of the officers name that you talk to as you may want to talk to him when you cross the border if there is any problems as he will probably remember your phone conversation. Be as thorough as possible with the required paperwork as one missing item could turn your trip into a bureaucratic nightmare.
