this is the best way to get into the TT world. My wife gave me the same excuse and now 3 TT's later we still love getting out and the kids love it also. have fun and enjoy life.
yea, I got sway control and a weight distributing hitch. Is it possible to put another sway control on the other side? I see it is prepped for it....just wondering

Also check to see if Jayco has it's own trailer specific forum on the net somewhere - I am sure if it does someone will post it here. I found a forum specifically for my make of trailer, and the help there can be very specific and detailed from others who own your exact model.

First of all, welcome to the world of camping and forum. We love our Jayco 29X. You are about to learn a very important point with TT's - it's not just the camping, it's all about buying/building the toys that go along with it!!! As for your questions, here are my 2 cents:
1. Sway - Sounds like you have a friction sway set up. Rather than adding another friction bar, you may want to look into the dual cam set-up. We have the Reese, but Equalizer is well thought of.
2. Other goodies -
- Power tongue jack (no sweat setting up/tearing down)
- Vent covers (open the vents without rain getting in)
- Bug screens for your frig and HWH vents
- Tacky lights
- 30-amp extension cord
- Fresh water hose
- Water pressure regulator
- Wheel chocks (I love my new Rotochoks)
- Levelers
I could add 20 more things we've purchased in the 3 years we've owned a pop-up and then the Jayco. We absolutely love it. I hope you have as much fun as my family has had!!!

I want to get the power jack, but for now, or until my wife think she wants to help, this one will do. Which vents are you talking about? It would be nice b/c it was hot as balls in there today when I went in to load more stuff. Bug screen on the hot water heater I think....something on the left(driver) side down towards the bottom. Mine has a 30' extension cord rated for 30 amps with it. Do I need another one? Mine also came with a short fresh water hose - never pulled it out to see how long it was. Also came with a pressure regulator for the water. Currently I am using the wheel chocks off of my utility trailer, I will have to remember to return them when I get back. Levelers? What is that? Isn't that what the boards I run over are for?
Well, we are back. I didn't loose the trim as I was expecting. We all had a blast. The only thing I didn't like was the rain the last night we were there. About 11pm I saw lightening on the other side of the mountains we were in so me and my wife snuck out and tore everything down except for the table, coleman stove and coffee pot. I went ahead and hooked the truck up to it and put the sway bar and spring bars on and kept it hooked up to the power/water sources. About 1am the sky fell out and it stormed its butt off. About 6amish it was done and I went out and ran the stabilizers up and made coffee. We rolled out or should I say tried to roll out by 7:30am but my truck was stuck in the mud hooked to a heavy camper. It was exciting, I actually made the 4wd earn its keep this time. Catch yall later, I gotta go clean this thing out and drain the fresh water tanks and other fun stuff.
