I installed mine the same place as on a motorhome. I have a closet right in the back middle of my trailer so that is where I went out. I then ran inside by my shower lines up to the front and went out were the wires for my converter go outside. When I got to the front I insatlled a l braket and installed a splice in it. There is a short cable from there to the truck. The truck is wired the same way but with a weather cover over where the wire is on the back of the truck. I did it this way so if I forget to unplug the camera I only have to replace a little cable and not the whole lenght in the truck or trailer.

Here are the pics, finally got out there to take them. It's not the prettiest thing in the world (looks like I mounted a paint ball cannon to the back of my TT) but it works well, and I can easily adjust it side to side if needed.

That looks really good....ingenious idea using the PVC like that. One question i have is, does it shake when travelling?

If I was going to install a rear view camera, in my opinion, you should get one that has enough of a wide angle that you can see your rear bumper, or get a really good view of the rear of the trailer so you don't have to guess clearances when you're backing up. I've been investigating cameras for about a year, and find very few have an adequate field of view (ie: 110 degrees or more)
Some have 170 degree FOV which provide an excellent view behind the RV.
This was one I liked if I placed it in the top of the rear window (inside the trailer).

I like these options so far. Question for youth4him, do you store your slinky in the bumper? and if so did the screws in the bumper effect anything? I think I know what direction I'm going to go.

I opted for a portable unit that has magnetic mounts for the camera and the monitor is hand held. I am usually traveling alone so this is a good combination for me because I can place the camera on the back of my TV to hook up or move it to the back of the TT to back into a campsite or whatever need I may have. Yep, I used relatively short screws so as not to protrude into the bumper too far and create an issue. There's almost no weight or force on the thing, so I didn't need much.
