I replaced mine with Bilstiens at around 89K miles. I thought there was a huge difference in the hanndleing of my truck both towing & solo.

Is it Bilstein or just new shocks?

With shocks they gradually degrade over time, you get new ones on and you should see a marked improvement. Maybe Bilsteins hold up longer with the monotube technology? Or their lifetime warranty? Or is that just a gimmick?

Whatever the answers are, I put them on my F150, and it seemed like a better ride. But sometimes I think my truck runs better after an oil change...that is probably just in my head, could the shocks be the same way?

Changed mine at about 6000 miles, slightly stiffer ride overall.

Did improve over rough terrain, keeps the suspension from bottoming out. Wouldn't take much with the stock shocks. Also helped (some) with controlling rear end wheel hop in sand and snow etc.

Only make this comment to give a potential buyer additional feedback.

More than likely anytime you change shocks with many thousands of mile for any type shock, a noticeable improvement will be noticed.

Certianly some of the improvement in ride quality is that you just put on new shocks, I don't doubt that and everyones opinion is subjective. I'll still say they ride and perform great. I'm happy.

Just put the Bilsteins on my truck yesterday. There was a noticable difference on the feel going over the bumps. I agree with the other posts, anything feels great after driving around on worn shocks. Mine had 50k miles and they were ready to be changed at 40k.

Can't wait to pull the trailer next weekend to see how well my TV rides

BTW. Did anyone catch the fact that the Bilstein shocks are German, but they are made here in the USA?

I put Bilsteins on my 03 Chevy at around 75k miles. What a difference! The original should have been replaced around 40k. The main difference is when towing. Bilstein believer here.
