All of you so called "experts" in weight related issues had better go back to school. There is no smoke and mirrors involved in my truck and trailer. IF you don't know what the weight ratings are for a certain vehicle perhaps you should do some fact finding before you all get on your high horses. A 2006 Ford F250 has a gross vehicle rating 10,000#. It is rated to tow up to a 15,000# fifth wheel trailer. Granted, if you were to hook up to a 15,000# trailer you would more than likely be over your weight ratings unless the trailer was engineered with most of the weight over the axles. Some of you must really have some heavy 29' trailers if that is all you can tow with a F250. The original poster asked about towing with a 2006 F250. The same set up that I have. That is why I responded to his question. I guess we all need to go out and get tandem axle Pete's and KW's to pull our trailers with. Some of you guys need to chill out and get a life and try to enjoy it some. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

So, based on your comments here the Ford F250 is rated to carry a 25,000 GCWR? 10,000 GVWR and 15,000 fifth wheel trailer weight. That is more than any of the 1 ton duallies, so your numbers even though they may be correct individually combined they do not seem realistic! Now, you can choose to load YOUR truck up to what ever limits you deem appropriate and that is your right in the current system we live in. However advising others to do as you do is simply not appropriate. You do not know this person, do not know his driving abilities or anything else about him or his truck. And to advise exceeding any and all limits is borderline criminal JMHO. You may disagree.

Nope Donn0128, his truck GCWR is 23000. Ford upped it between 2004 and 2005 from 20000 to 23000. There is no difference between a F250 and a F350 except ride height.

I have the same truck as you do except it is a 2007. I have towed my trailer all the way up the Rocky Mountains from Texas to Canada using the trailer tow button and cruise control and am real happy with the whole rig. My trailer is a 30RL Cedar Creek with a GVWR of 12280 lbs. I am sorry but I don't know the actual weight. I am REAL hard to please but this works well for me at 70 to 75 MPH. With the price of diesel I will be slowing down to 65 MPH which is probably a safer speed anyway.
