Have a Garmin SP7500 with SiRF receiver in a C and it works great. Has dead reckoning and will track in tunnels also. Bought the external antenna with it but it's probably not necessary as it will lock onto satellites indoors as long as its near a window.

Stupid question time! What's a "bean bag" mount? I have the same unit and plan on taking it with us in a few weeks.

In the accessory list for the 680, they call it "portable friction mount". It works great with my 2620 on any rent car I've tried it with.

dmatt - Bean bag mount, sometimes called a dash pad or Nav-Mat looks like this at HeartlandAmerica . We have a TomTom XL-S mounted on one of these. *bought ours on sale for $19.99 with free shipping.

As I understand GPS, they look for a minimum of 3 and up to 5 satellites along the horizon. So, the overhead bunk should not be a problem.

If the display on my Garmin 660 is any indication, it uses 9-12 satellites.

Thanks. Never seen them before. I may order one.

Garmin 680. Never any issues. Works nearly perfectly (the GPS is perfect; sometimes the routing could be tighter). We use the suction cup mount.

I am using a Tom Tom One in my Class C with no problem. It does take a minute or so to aquire the satellites when I first turn it on, but have never lost a signal while going down the road, but have never gone thru a tunnel, either. Get one, you'll be glad you did.
