Was the jack an Ultra-Fab? You could have and maybe still should call them and describe your problem to them. I did and I had a new jack there 2 days later.

this is just to funny... I don't like the new CW stores being located within dealerships, but loved them as stand alone stores...

many of the clerks on the floor have camped and a lot of them are work campers...

shopping there is no different than shopping anywhere else... some things will be higher, some won't...

I have used their service several times and most of those times I got very good service and the rates were flat rates... often it took longer sometimes much longer than the flat rate and never less time... if you work around flat rate there is no surprise here...

the biggest problem I have at CW, is all the whiners that take all of the floor staffs time with no intention of buying anything... if they would just stay home and do their Internet shopping I would have a much better experience there...

I like B&M stores, I like seeing what I am buying and feeling it... I like to be able to decide and install it the same day... if it don't fit or isn't working I like returning it or replacing it without worrying about shipping

if you paid to much it isn't their fault, if you agreed to pay for it they didn't cheat you...

you are in control, you have the money, they want to sell to you, you can always say no... you are holding all the trump cards, but its up to you to know how to play...

why would you ever walk through the door if that is how you feel???

Camping World...If you think they treat their customers crappy, try working there. The conditions we worked under were, shall I say, not fit for man nor beast. Thank goodness I had sense enough to get out quick.

I guess it must make a difference which store you deal with as we just had the following experience:

I helped our friends outfit a new TT at the CW store in Fairfield Ca. One of the things they purchased was a Prodigy brake control. As it turned out, it was defective. We did not discover that until a couple of weeks later and by then the box was gone..Not only that, we could not find the receipt.

We took the unit back to CW and they tried to retrieve the receipt from their system with no luck. The only thing they could find was the CW Presidents club sign up the day of the purchase. With a shrug, thy simply went back and handed us a new unit complete in box. That kind of service is what keeps us going back..We even purchased a few more things that day..

Their employees have a great attitude and are very helpful.

The stores here in Michigan have great people working in them. I find the president club price to be the same as most other stores and online especially when you add in shipping and handling. What do you thing would have happened if you bought it at Wal-Marts or online? I don't hear anyone on here knocking anyone else's camping supplies.
We have spent many hours in the stores here and did not see any of the things 19Sandie54 wrote. The managers, works, and tech's are all great people to work with. A lot do not own RV's but know what's in the store and have asked us when we're in the store to help consumers with questions if they think we can help.
I have found that a customers attitude has a lot to do with the way they are treated in any store. We have seen more than you would believe of customers come in the door with bad attitudes, unreasonable demands, or just plan mean.

X 2 While I have given up on Ultra Fab as I have had to replace three jacks in three years because the entire threaded shaft decided to just fall out the bottom at all the wrong times. Each time I called and was sent a replacement jack within a day or two, this time I sold my "new" jack to someone else and bought an Atwood for the same price.
Sorry to rant about Ultra Fab just not happy with the product, customer support is great its just the that the same problem 3 times got old.

Give the manufacture a call next time before returning to the store you bought it from.

I`m surprised the jack hasn`t hopped a bus and made it`s way to my house. Broken stuff seems to find me. I have made several purchases from CW since we bought the TT and I find their Pres. Club prices to be pretty competitive, at least for the items I`m buying. I always check the internet and local stores for comparison. I like Lowes for some stuff and Home Depot for others. Nobody does it all. My pet peeve is CW`s on line ordering. For some reason, it keeps trying to automatically signing me up for another year of Pres. club. I`ve sent a few nasty emails but haven`t seen any changes yet. Anybody else have this prob?
