How many of us are traveling with a gun of some kind on our trailers? I fully realize that every state law is different when it comes to weapons, so what are the ramifications of sticking our pathetic 22 handgun in a dresser drawer. We've never carried it with us in 5 years of three-to-four-months trips each summer, but I read more and more about RVers being armed. Thinking about throwing it on board this year for our trip to Maine.
Cheers,

I have a CCW permit, so I don't leave home without one regardless of where I am going.

I follow the don't ask don't tell rule.
I'm also at a point in my life were I don't think anything I would do would lead to searching my camper.
I also have a CCW permit. Am I carring; well you have to ask your self one thing, do you feel lucky...

My opinion on the subject is this. It is better to be tried by 12 than carried by six. Have you ever seen anyone's RV searched by the police? I'm not an attorney but I believe it would take a search warrant to get in your RV. So I say go for it.

What he said...

AND... when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Don't know all the laws about it.

But I can tell you all that when I was traveling in the UP and saw that 'every' single pick up truck had their guns mounted behind them on the back window of the truck, I made a mental note not to tick anyone of them off.

My longs ones are under the bed in the MH. Where I keep the short one is a secret.

carry it with you if you want unless you are crossing the border into Canada, that might be a real problem

Also have a CCW permit and carry my Glock 19 in the trailer. Recently have been in only two CG that I felt that I might need to have it available.

I carry in my truck and bring it into the 5er at night if I feel I need it. Although I don't have a CCW permit, I do have a Commission & Badge with the Sheriff's Office where I live. Once upon a time long ago when we first got married, I was a full time Sheriff's Deputy and they still issue me a commission whenever a new Sheriff takes over.

I have nothing against guns, own a couple at home. However, I do not carry when on the road.
