We had the same problem several months ago was a big wad of TP blocked the valve go to any RV parts house they sell a clear tube with a hose adapter on it and a shut off valve you hook it into the line and shut the the lower valve and open the valve to the tank the water will blow the the block backwards and open the bottom valve and your problem should go down the drain.

OK, folks. I already use a clear elbow and I'm certain the handle hasn't detached from the valve since I could clearly see the effluent in the elbow. THAT'S the mystery about the whole thing! The tank was basically empty when I turned on the rinser water. I still think it had something to do with the sewer hose having too many turns and dips, causing a pressure or vacuum to develop in the black tank which caused the sewage to get past the ball valve in the toilet. There can be no other reasonable explanation. In the future, I'm going to be sure that the hose is fairly straight. It's certainly strange since I've been emptying waste tanks for over 20 years in various types of RV's and have never encountered this phenomenon before.

I have a strong feeling that it wasn't flushed after the last use. For it to get by the stopper valve would take some pressure, It would have gone up your vent tube and out on the roof long before getting past ball valve in the john. Esp. if any solids got past it. But that's just my opinion. Since I was not there to see what was going on I can only offer and opinion. Bill

If you use the clear elbow.. Then when the elbow is clear.. The tank is empty, How many dips, kinks and the like are in the hose don't if the elbow is clear then either
1: Tank is empty or
2: Valve is closed
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Maybe while you were outside emptying your tank a neighbor sneaked over & dropped a big load in your toilet

If you can see the tank emptying then there's only one thing left you have what's called a RV volcano there's a cone of goo from the bottom of the tank to the top of the toilet not good.

Very simple, quit using (especially pressurized) rinsing gizmos and gadjets that are not necessary,.....and should never be used if you have any concideration for the person in line behind you at a dump station.
My rinsing consists of DW filling the bowl full of water while I am dumping the black, and when I tap on the wall, she hits the pedal,....in 3 minutes max, I'm outta there,...80 gals down the tube

You know, my door WAS open and my next door neighbor is a pretty big guy with an appetite for Mexican food. I believe you MAY have hit the nail on the head!
Kidding aside, I'm going to bring a hose with a nozzle into the bathroom and squirt a prodigious amount of water down the john in an attempt to break up any "volcano" that may have arisen there. I still think the situation had something to do with all the kinks in the sewer hose and some kind of pressure buildup in the tank. I'll let you know results after I re-flush the tank today.

Hi there,
My problem is a little different, after flushing the toilet, it didn't always go down unless I assist it with a plugger....
I also notice an air bubble, bad smell coming from the toilet upon flushing...
How do you check the roof vent... and is there a oneway valve on the roof vent that could be stuck.
The camper was purchased used, I also flush the holding tank after dumpping... no problem there.
