I use the CG water for everything but drinking, we carry a table top water cooler but now that we are going from a PUP to HTT (bigger fridge) we are thinking of keeping bottled water in the fridge and - the water cooler. We also have a small bar fridge we keep under the awning just for drinks so my DD are not running in and out 24-7, my family loves cold water. I have been to a CG that posted a sign not to drink the water but other than that I think most CG water is safe for drinking, if not posted other wise. Our water at home has a high chlorine/bleach taste so most CG water taste better than ours.

You really need the worst of the worst water to get sick from washing dishes or shower etc.

Dont ya'll ever go swimming at the beach?? That water is much worse then the water from the cg.

Drinking water/coffee is different as it is a taste issue and you are consuming it. But washing dishes or hands shouldnt make a difference as you need to consume a large amount.

We bring bottled water for drinking and food prep. The water in the tank is for hands and dishes.

We drink from our fresh water tank all the time and will fill up as needed. We leave home with a full tank. If we will be at a campground for more than 4 days I will compensate with 5 gal bottled water and use it for drinking. I have read a lot of reports about bottled water often coming from the same sources that we get from the tap. 7 years with the trailer thousands of miles and not one issue of illness. Boiling water to wash dishes do you do this at home? My water heater heats up the water hot enough for my dish sanitizing. I think people lived just fine without bottled water for many years and Mass marketing has really done its job in scaring people....

Clean water is clean water. Tank or bottle. Bottled water is often if not mostly from some municipal water supply anyway. [l]Cuyahoga Spring Water is what I drink at home though. Direct from the Cleveland water system out of the tap! That same water goes into my trailer.

i agree, Chuck! people are whining and complaining about gas prices, yet will pay more for bottled water.

there's been a lot of studies done that show people can't tell the difference between municipal water and bottled water. just like the difference between expensive vodka and Smirnoff vodka.
people have been bamboozled into buying bottled water, when their own drinking water is just as good.

but i used to do a lot of backpacking in the Sierras and got used to using iodine tablets in the backcountry water. so maybe i'm not a good judge of nuances of water taste.

We bring drinking water from home in separate 2 gal containers. Use for drinking and coffee. Wash dishes and selves from "tank" water. I just feel better about it that way.

Iodine treated water is an easily acquired taste. Drink enough of it and "City water" with that hint of chlorine will taste horrible!

Pretty sure Consumers Union tested bottled water and found it no different and certainly no better than your tap water as to purity, etc. City of Cleveland publishes a water purity table. Meets all pure water standards. But we've got one of the world's largest sources of fresh lapping at the city's north border.

Bottled water is at best a convenience. The Army uses a lot of it in SW Asia as an effective means of supplying water to the troops without the hassles of keeping it clean in transit.
