On a different note from my other post about water regulators ....

I was wondering how many of you out there use your HTT for drinking water. When my family goes camping we always fill up with water just do to showers or washing hands or dish’s and toilet etc.

However, when it comes to actually drinking water we always use bottled water. So again I’m just curious how many people really do use it for drinking?

Every morning to brush teeth and make coffee! I figure that if I run some bleech through the tank anniually (per mfgr recomendation), know my water sources, and don't "mix" my hoses, it can't be too bad...

Besides, if it isn't clean enough to drink, do I really want to prepare food, or wash and rinse my dishes in it?

Wash hands and dishes-yes--drink-no--we also use bottled water for drinking and making coffee. Rinsing off a dish seems different from drinking several ounces. Plus it tastes funny out of the tank. I also try to wash all of my produce at home too.

First, we use an inline torpedo filter right out of the campgroung spigot. Second, we carry a PUR countertop water filter that we fill with the campgroung water and use for drinking. Been doing it that way for years with no ill effects.

When we use the water to do dish's we boil it first so it gets the dish's clean.

So doing dish's is much different than drinking it. We have just always felt better about drinking from bottled water.

But as long as the tanks are clean and water is filter'd I'm sure it's just fine to drink from.

Again just wondering how many people really do.

We also bring water for coffee, just in case our water filter doesn't do the job. We use the campground water to brush teeth, and to cook with when needed, but we also use water filters when hooked up. I haven't used the fresh water tank yet.

I figure if a brush my teeth with it, take a shower once a month with it, I'll drink it. Wait a minute, If I happen to fill my tank up at home, no I don't drink it. If I have public water from another source, and I see the towns people walking around looking nice and healthy, than I'll drink it. My water is sulfur water. So we use nothing but bottled water for consumption at our home. Bill

since we rarely have hookups, we use our freshwater tank all the time. we usually fill from our home water since we have a TV that easily tows the trailer, even with a full tank of water.
we have a internal water filter but there's no element in it. if we get water that tastes funny, we'll put it in.

We'll drink out of it. We usually fill it at home for short-distance campouts, and though I'm not fond of our home water, we're used to it. If the CG water is at all suspect - tastes/smells funny or off-colored, we'll try not to fill the tank with it, but just wash dishes (again, hot water cures many ills) and drink bottled.
