do you unload things you have stored in it?

We need to take our HTT in this week for at least a day. i don't want anything that we store in it (tools, cooking stuff, hoses, lanterns, bedding, etc.) to "walk off" while it's at the dealer...

But, i also don't really have the time or energy to unpack & then re-pack it all.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

We take out the bed, couch, microwave, toilet, toilet tissue, refridgerator, shower, closets, kitchen table.

The a/c unit is too hard to remove, plus don't want a hole in the roof.

All kidding aside, just the "stuff" that would be worth BIG money and very hard to replace comes out. I really don't think someone is going after cooking stuff, lanterns and bedding! They may look for cash or coins, (from forgotten change of clothes).

Don't be so paranoid. I'd worry more about someone stealing gas or the electric cable for copper.

I don't....but I'm lucky to have a local independent RV technician. For routine stuff, it's usually just a matter of dropping it off in the morning and picking it up a few hours later. There are two dealerships that I have dealt with, and if I were dropping it off in either place, the only thing I'd remove would be the television (portable, free-standing). However, neither dealership is located in a big city or questionable area for security.

We don't unload it either. We'll see what we find when we get it back from the dealer (probably Monday) - but we've never had a problem before, at this or any of the other dealers in our local area.

i'm not at all paranoid. i didn't say i thought we needed to -- i was asking IF we need to. i was curious & wanted to make sure i'm not missing something.
It just occured to me that it would be pretty easy for tools or the Leatherman or whatnot to disappear, & we wouldn't know until we needed it later.

Thanks, that's what i was hoping to hear.

We did with certain things. We removed the television, cable box, tool box and satelight dish/tripod. Everything else stayed in. Took us 2 minutes to remove it and 2 minutes to put it back. I'd like to trust the shop but after I found out they charged me $300.00 for a $165.00 dinosaur board I'm glad I removed the items.

Naturally you wouldn't leave expensive things like jewelry or cameras in there, but I always leave everything else and have never, ever had a problem. I think I do have to sign something that says they are not responsible for items left, but again, I've never had a problem. I actually leave my TV in a little cube that it travels in. Since I do keep my trailer here at home, I do turn the fridge off and empty it out since there would be no power to it. That could get really back quick............Oh, I don't think you are paranoid. I wondered the same thing the first time or two.

I never gave it any thought, but I guess I don't store anything really valuable in there. I switched out my outside storage door locks, so everyone who owns a camper can't open them. I guess if I was one of these folks with a pricey flat panel TV, I might take that out.
