Ssmson,
Try the Texas Dept. of Vital Statistics to get a copy of your birth certificate.

Check with passport office - although they prefer birth certificates I think they also accept other id if that is not available.

I suspect you are really trying to get a Birth certificate, not get a passport from Texas.
So you dont have an old Birth certificate around? You might have used it last when you got your driver license.

Yes, you are right ! What was I thinking?? I was trying to get an Official Birth Certificate. They will not accept the copy of my BC

We applied for ours on May 5th and still hasn't come. Did get notice that it will be coming and got birth cert. back. We decided to just get the passport card and not the book. It is good for crossing into Mexico and Canada, but not flying to another country. It was alot cheeper also, and eaiser to carry with us. The are just starting to send cards out in June so it should be coming soon. Happy Travels or should I say HAPPY TRAILS hehehehehe

We were going to get the cards and the guy at the post office said that they will ship soon. But he did suggest that we should consider the regular passport. Since they are good for 10 years, we would be covered in case we decided to take a cruise or go somewhere other then Canada.

If it's listed in the Yellow Pages, the government shouldn't be messing around with it.
