We're looking into a the Roo 23B and the Surveyor SV-233T. Was wondering if people prefer the center blast a/c or the ducted a/c in a hybrid? We currently have a popup with center blast, so experience tells me that the blast would send more air into the bunk ends (though harder to regulate the temp). But the ducted usually comes with a thermostat and has vents near the beds, add the fan/light combos and is that enough? Any opinions? Pros/Cons?
Never knew about the Popup Gizmos until recently, so will definitely get those. Seems like they will make a world of difference in our camping experience regardless of the a/c...

We have the Roo 23b. The A/C is ducted, but you have the option of using the center blast if you want.
99% of the time we use the ducted rather than the center blast. It seems to direct the air where we want it, (especially when we sleep) rather than in just one place. We usually run a fan in the bunk end to help direct the cool air into the bunk. With the thermostat control, we never get too cold or too hot.
We don't have the popup gizmos but may get them in the future. Usually, we like sites among the trees so direct sunlight (and the resulting increase in temperature in the bunks) is not a huge issue for us.

if you plan to use a/c a lot, the ducted is far superior to "blast from the center" a/c.
you can close off areas you aren't using. the thermostat helps keep it at a more desirable setting.
if it's going to be an occasional usage, then it may be a minor positive or negative.
we don't use it that much, so it wasn't a big deal to us. it just happened to come with the brand/floor plan we wanted.

Ours has both. We keep it on duct, except when returning to the TT hot, sweaty, and dehydrated. Then flip on the center blast and stand under it! Ahhhhh, Ohhhhh so nice!

If the ducted also has a "blast" option, it would be a nobrainer to select that. also with the other perks seems like that's the way to go. I know ducted air was an upgrade years back with other types of RVs.

The blast from the center AC in our popup (the only type available) caused drafts that were a constant source of bickering between members of my family. We're thankful our Roo has ducted AC.
The ducted AC units can be used as an "air shower" forcing cold air straight down. This is quite different from the AC blasting from the center.
But there really is no choice. You pick a trailer. You get Ducted or Blast -- which ever it comes with, there are no options.
Thermostat controlled, ducted AC is just like at home, it cycles on and off as needed. Blast from the center is always running.
The factory thermostat is rudimentary. A good digital replacement, for both heat and cold, is inexpensive.

I had a Coleman Mach unit on our Jayco, I found it quite annoying that you couldn't set the thermostat to cycle the unit off/on.
I have a Dometic unit that is ducted on my current trailer, I could NOT go back to a unit with a Coleman center blast unit, they are loud and drafty.

Hey interesting question on the popup gizmos. I noticed one side is shinny and other side is camo. What is the difference and when should you use the two and I remember once that someone stated it didn't matter, any truth to that?
Thanks, Dan

Makes a major difference!
The shiny side reflects the sunlight and heat. It needs to be UP if you want less heat inside.
