I'm hoping someone out there will know what I'm talking about and can help me out. A neighbor had a large metal fire extinguisher that had a hand pump on the top. You could unscrew the top fill with water, close it back, then pump it up. It could spray a LONG distance - even up in the air. I borrowed it and added bleach in the water to eliminate mildew on my second floor siding. It was great. But the neighbor has moved and I can't locate one for myself. I checked with a fire extinguisher company here in town and he didn't know what I was talking about. I've seen the electric power pressure washers - but I'd rather have this other thing. Maybe my neighbor just rigged something up - but it didn't look homemade. Thought someone might be using something like this to wash their rig. Thanks if you can help me.
Are you sure it's not just a metal canister chemical sprayer? The kind that you would use to spray your rose bushes with? Those have a hand pump to pressurize them. Which would work about the same. Or, is THIS what you are looking for...scroll down a bit, and you'll see them.
If nothing else works, did you keep in touch with your ex-neigbor? Might be a nice time to call, and see how their move went?

Those are an older model of extinguisher. When I was a rookie fireman about 26 years ago...we had some serious water fights with those pump cans..Most newer water extinguishers use air pressure from an air compressor.

The old pump-type extinguishers became collectors items a few decades ago, but you COULD try an Indian Back-pack Pump. These are used for direct attack on SMALL wildland fires, or for mop-up of remote spot-fires.

You might want to look into the "Indian Tank" above or a quality garden sprayer. Not going to get the reach out of a garden sprayer, but you can get a "plastic" one that the bleach shouldn't damage too much.
The other alternative would be a 2.5 gallon pressurize-water extinguisher. Not sure if you could find an older one somewhere or not. Might be cost-prohibitive to buy a new one. If you can, it makes a great camp fire safety item, also. Just remember to clean it WELL IMMEDIATELY after the bleach so it doesn't corrode the metal parts! A local extinguisher company *MAY* be able to help you with a udes one as well as how to (re)fill it.
