I am looking for a frame mount 2" reciever for the rear of my 5er to connect a bike rack to. I have looked on line and not had any luck finding a frame mount reciever for an RV. My thought at this point is to fabricate a piece of metal and weld it to the frame and then weld a reciever to the metal. Anybody done this? or know of a place that makes such an item? I am a little leary about attatching a bumper mount reciever/bike rack. If anybody has a bumper mount system, would you recommend it? or are you not happy with it. Thanks for your input.
I am afraid the hitch for 5-th needs to be custom made. I did something similar on my vintage bus conversion. I bought a hitch design for one of the pickup and just rewelded the frame brackets to fit my coach.
Good luck.

The cheaper bike racks are made for the smaller receivers, and have a plastic piece to make up the difference....pretty much junk.
From what I see, you would still do better with the receiver hitch than a bumper mount, but it will still depend on the quality of each. A good bumper mount will be better than a cheap receiver mount...and visa versa.
I went with a receiver platform ("back porch") that I can mount the bikes and a lot more on. You will also have it available if you want it for other things (fire wood?), even on the Pick-up.
As far as finding them....e-bay, Camping World, Google search "Bike Racks", and even Walmart have them.
Good luck, have fun

You didn't say for how many bikes.
Anyway I have used the bolt on receiver and used my Saris 4 bike rack with no problems. I have also used one of these, which I like because it's just easier to load 4 bikes on.

As an ex-fabricator...this, or something similar, would be the hot set-up IMHO. You may have to take it to your local welder for minor changes, (or just have one made specifically), but it'll still be cheaper than replacing your RVs rear bumper and the bicycles, (several times.....)

Actually no welding is needed, it they simply cut the tubes the right size for the frame rails, and bolt it on according to the instructions. Welding would make it stronger, but not necessary(IMHO).
I have a Hidden Hitch on my Jayco that bolted right up according to the dealer. It has 1 3/8 inch receiver and limited to only 350#'s so nothing other than bikes etc, no towing with it.
