In all our camping, no stranger has ever taken anything we've left out. The only thing we lock up at night are the bikes and generators. All the chairs, tables, radios, etc. are kept out all night, tucked away neatly usually under the trailer or overhang.
Funny though, the only thing every to go missing was a Maglite and my VERY favorite pocketknife. I found them two weeks later at my brother-in-law's house, guess he liked them.
So... have faith in the strangers, just watch out for the in-laws!!!

Just recently we had shoes go missing. We typically leave our shoes outside on the mat so as to not track dirt inside. Here's what's interesting. The first night, one of my DW's shoes went missing. Just one. Figured it was a critter, so we walked around the site but couldn't find it. The next night, one of my daughter's. Just one. Now we figure it was some punk kid(s) pulling a prank. My DW was not amused!
I lock up the motorcycles, generator, tool box and jugs of gas and put away anything else of value at night and when gone away from camp. This ice chest is the noisyest ice chest I've ever heard, it makes a really LOUD c-r-e-a-k when anyone opens it, so I just park it where I can hear it. So far the only ones found dipping into the ice chest have been friends and that doesn't bother me.
Does it do any good to lock up things in your storage bins if everyone has a CH751 key, since they are mostly all keyed alike? I try to stay in nice places where I don't feel like I have to worry about someone stealing my stuff. I am seriously considering replacing my locks, but should be more concerning with my fuel tanks.

Never had anything stolen that I know of. If anything is missing, I guess I didn't need it in the first place cause I don't know what it could be. Only thing we lock up is my tools.

We have never had a problem, but put the things away at nite, especially in cg's that are in a populated areas. Not to worry about other campers, we have a code of keeping an eye on things, however it is easy to jump the fence sometimes for the locals to indulge. A lock is to keep honest people honest, if a thief wants it, a simple lock will only slow them down a little. Out of site, out of mind.

My generator gets locked with a cable/alarm lock. That's all. Never worried at koa type cgs, only more remote areas where thieves can go through unnoticed. Had a marmot pee in my shoe once (loved those shoes - doh!)
I've only had one bad experience. I left my golf clubs in the back end of the TV and the next morning someone had stolen all the irons. When I replaced them, I replaced the woods too as I figured if they weren't good enough for a thief to take, I needed new ones :0).
We try to keep valuables locked up as well as you can in a pop up. Folding Chairs are left out along with some minor stuff but things like grills, dog food and other items that would either be a target for thieves or raccoons get locked in the TV. I always keep the TV locked at night just from habit more than anything else.
