DW laughs at me, but I usually make it a point to wash the truck and trailer before leaving on a trip. Upon returning, I'll clean it at some point, but I'm not as compulsive about it as I am before leaving on a trip. I try to do the roof at least a couple of times during the season, and before storing for the winter.

We wash it before, sometimes during, and after a trip. At Topsail a week ago and there was a TT there and it had green moss growing on the front and sides of it. It looked horrible. The next day we rode or bikes by and they had washed it. Maybe some of the neighbors pitched in and helped??

ditto

Same for me, when I notice it is getting dirty I wash it even if it rains later at least all of the dirt is off and rainwater does not spot.

When traveling I wash the bugs off each night as they are not baked on and the long you leave then on the more difficult they are to remove.

I wash the roof and everything after every trip. Then it gets covered until the next trip. It's never had a black streak.

The roof takes probably an extra 20-25 minutes which is considerably less time than it would take to clean or post about cleaning black streaks.

I like the humor and it is true.

DW is a clean-freak. Even when our TT is "dirty" (her opinion) it's clean (my opinion). Black streaks I can't even see, she sees. But on one thing we agree: there's no point in cleaning it before a trip. We live on an unpaved road and between the mud, the dust and the winter road sand/salt it's likely to get as dirty in the first half-mile as it does in the next thousand miles. So as not to embarrass, we do quickie clean-ups as needed (her opinion) during our travels and then give it a major bath upon returning home.

Usually the last major thing I do is wash it before we go.
When we get back I usually only do the front but since I just
got a new powerwasher few weeks back, I break it out if the streaks start building up too much. It's gets a bath once a month either way.
