That's something I had not thought of. How does it attach to the trailer? And does it store on the trailer or do you take it off and put it inside? Certainly might solve my awning quandry.

the trailer has the "C" channel trim where the rood meets the side and I had the awning company sew a 1/4" cord on that edge of the awning. (I got the idea from an old pop-up I used to have) it takes a couple of minutes to get up on the stepstool and slide it in. they also did the "circus cut" on the over hang.

Thanks for the info. I do believe I will be making some phone calls come Monday morning.

I wish I could remember the name of that awning company. it's on I-10 East in Channelview, on the eastside of Houston. I can't imagine that any awning co couldn't do the same, though.
good luck with your search.

Your Shasta is amazing. I've seen so many in the last year, languishing at the side of the road. Your trailer is beautiful, and obviously, happily in use. Happy camping.... PS if you ever find time to post interior photos, we'd all love to see them... Vintage rocks!

You did a superb job!!!! What a sense of accomplishment you must feel!
I have just rebuilt my little camper after I discovered wet floors under my water heater and bathroom. I know what you mean when you say lots of hard work!

Thanks for the nice words. I will take some inside pics when I get a chance.
Avatr, great job on your restoration, it looks really nice. I have the original awning that was purchased with the trailer and it is like new. The reason is, is becasue it is a bit of work to set up so I don't use it often. Mine has brown and white stripes with the scalloped and fringed edges and has the three-pole setup. It looks great once up but it is almost a three-person job to get it installed without dragging it all over the ground.
